Today I received an award of appreciation from one of my students through a club she is involved in. The email she sent me about it was this:
I missed you at your office to day, I wanted to catch you to invite you to the care meeting tomorrow from 12:30 to 1:30 in room 203. The reason is cause I nominated you for a teacher appreciation for all that you have done for me this semester. You had encouraged me when I was having problems standing in front of the class and talking even though you knew that I had a hard time with that and I wanted to thank you for all that you had done for me. If you cant come because this is short notice I will understand and will not be upset. I just wanted to say thank you for this semester and for helping me get through a tough time for me and helping me work on some issues that I am working on within myself. I hope you can come and I will see you tomorrow at some point lol…. ~ Liz
I also got some other messages today:
Hello, Debby. Just wanted to say it was a pleasure being in your class. I have learned a lot of things. With the literacy class at the same time, I got a lot of information floating around in my brain. Hopefully, it will settle down eventually and all that information will start sticking and I can apply it in the future. I am appling a lot of it now. Although it was a challenging class, I did get through it and I feel good about myself and how I did in the class. You are a very good teacher and I wish I could take your robotics class, but I will make room for it in the fall of next year. This is not good bye because I will see you in the Spring. I will be tutoring the usual, ASL and Guitar, but (don’t fall off you sit)Computer Literacy. Anyway, take care. Have a great break. Will talk to you again. Thanks alot for all you have done to futher my education. You did good. signing off neon sandysmith
Thank You Very Much!!!
Debby, I just wanted to say thanks for all I have learned in this class. You really made me think. I had so much fun in your class and I’m gonna miss you. Unfortunatley, I’m not taking any of your classes next semester. I’m taking two online classes (I’ve never taken online classes before, so wish me luck with that) Keyboarding and Beginning Word. My other class is Clinical Medical Assiting which is part of my degree. Anyway, thanks again and I hope you don’t mind me maybe stopping by just to say HI! ~ Cris
Good Evening Professor Kilburn,
I know I did not get a chance to talk to you on Wednesday, but I would like to say that your class and style of teaching the subject of computers was wonderful. I got a lot more out of the class than I anticipated. And you made it fun to learn a subject I was rather apprehensive of in the beginning. So I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge with me. Many thanks and I look forward to seeing you on Campus next semester. Thank you, D. Whitbey
